When are the next Texas elections?

The next general election is November 3, 2026 (federal/state/county offices). Primary elections will be held March 3, 2026 with runoffs May 26, 2026. Uniform elections for political subdivisions occur on May 2, 2026.

How do I register to vote in Texas?

Texas requires voters to register at least 30 days before an election. You can register by mail using Form H-13 (available at sos.state.tx.us) or in person at your county voter registrar's office. Texas does not currently offer online voter registration.

What ID do I need to vote?

Texas requires photo ID: Texas driver's license, Texas Election Identification Certificate, Texas personal ID card, handgun license, military ID, citizenship certificate, or passport. Voters without acceptable ID may vote provisionally if they fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration.

How do I vote by mail?

Texas restricts mail ballots to: 65+, disabled, out of county during election, incarcerated but eligible, or expected childbirth. Submit Application for Ballot by Mail (ABBM) to your county clerk starting January 1 of election year. Deadline is Feb 21 for March 3, 2026 primary.
